Kelly contacted me in June, looking for invitations and stationery for her wedding in November. The big day would take place at Sant Ffraed House in Abergavenny, South Wales. With a sophisticated, elegant theme in mind (Nana would be wearing black tie) Kelly was looking for the perfect suite of modern, minimalist wedding invitations and stationery. Here’s what we created together.
Folded minimalist wedding invitations with vellum wraps
Kelly and Nana needed to have a fair amount of information printed in their wedding invitations, including a menu for their guests to pre-select their own choices from. They didn’t need RSVP cards as their responses would be collected via their wedding website.
We decided that a folded card would be best suited for them. The invitation itself was printed on the front cover beneath Kelly & Nana’s bespoke wedding monogram, with all the important details inside. The back cover was finished off with a repeat of that monogram. The invitations were printed in crisp black ink onto natural, off white recycled card, just a little softer than brilliant white. For a little extra elegance we wrapped the card in vellum and tied them around with a black satin ribbon.

Matching minimalist evening invitations
Kelly and Nana’s evening guests didn’t need so much information, so a simple flat card printed on one side only was perfect. The design to match the day invitations, printed onto the same recycled card.

Elegant, minimalist wedding day stationery
For the day itself, Kelly and Nana wanted to continue with the elegant, minimalist theme throughout their wedding stationery.
Personalised menus for the wedding reception
As each guest had pre-ordered their own menu, Kelly and Nana opted to have personalised menus printed for each place setting. We used a luggage tag shape, cut from the same natural recycled card as we used on the invitations. Each menu was printed with the K | N monogram, the guest’s name, and their personalised menu choice. Finished with black satin ribbon, they made an elegant addition to the reception tables.

Elegant black and ivory table number cards
To complement the personalised wedding menus, we made number cards for each table. Again in the same natural card, with the monogram, and a black border to finish them off. The table number cards are tent style so that they can either be used free standing on the table, or folded flat to go into clip style holders.

Minimalist black and white wedding welcome sign
To welcome their guests, Kelly and Nana chose an elegant, minimalist wedding welcome sign. Printed onto a sustainable and recyclable A1-sized display board, the design featured their bespoke wedding monogram and a simple welcome message.

Minimalist wedding order of the day timeline
An order of the day sign is a great way to let your guests know what to expect and when throughout the day. Kelly & Nana’s kept their minimalist theme with their monogram and simple black and white colour scheme.

Simple, traditional wedding table plan
To match the other wedding signage, we created an elegant wedding table plan. Again printed at A1 size and with the modern wedding monogram, black and white colour scheme, and fonts to match all the other stationery.

Dried flower petal confetti bags
A lovely, eco-friendly touch, ensuring their guests had enough dried flower petals to throw for that all-important confetti shot. Recyclable glassine bags can be printed with whatever text or deign you would like. Kelly and Nana chose to have their monogram and a simple ‘throw some love’ message.

Minimalist wedding invitations and stationery for Kelly & Nana
So that was the complete, coordinated suite of minimalist wedding stationery I created for Kelly and Nana’s big day at Sant Ffraed House. The venue is super elegant and sophisticated and the perfect backdrop for a chic, black tie wedding. Kelly and Nana’s stationery suite was based on my Modern Monogram house collection. Everything was printed onto recycled card or sustainable, recyclable materials. Ensuring that, while elegant, their stationery had minimal impact on the environment.
