I do love March, it always feels so full of promise and good things to come. The daffodils are blooming, the Spring equinox is just around the corner, and we’ll be turning the clocks forward before the end of the month. And of course, here in Wales on the 1st of March it’s St David’s Day. So, if you’re celebrating…. Dydd Gŵyl Dewi Hapus! To help keep you on track with your wedding planning, here’s my wedding stationery checklist for March, with everything you should be ticking off this month. Grab a cuppa and a Welsh cake and get stuck in!
1. Order your save the date cards
for 2025 and early 2026 weddings
I recommend sending save the date cards 12 to 18 months before your wedding.
So, now is the perfect time for those summer 2025 weddings. Getting the date in your guests’ diaries now will help to make sure they don’t get double booked!
Already get your date & venue booked for spring 2026? Go ahead, send them out, up to two years in advance is absolutely fine.

2. Order your wedding and evening reception invitations
for weddings from July to October 2024
March is the time when you need to sort your invitations for late summer and autumn weddings. I recommend sending them four to eight months ahead of the big day, which means you need to order them around six to ten months in advance. It’s not too early to get those winter weddings booked in too!

3. Order your on the day stationery
for weddings from March to May 2024
On the day stationery includes all those finishing touches you will need for the day itself. For your ceremony that will be an order of service (for a church wedding), an order of the day sign, a welcome sign, confetti bags, and maybe reserved seating cards. For your reception, a table plan, table numbers, place cards, menus, and and any other wedding signs. Click any of the pictures below for more inspo

4. Don’t forget the all important thank you cards
the last piece of wedding stationery you need
A personal, handwritten note to your nearest and dearest thanking them for their company, good wishes, and gifts is a must. If you have tied the knot in the last six months, then it’s not loo late!
What do you write in thank you cards?
