Olivia and Owain contacted me in February, looking for mauve wedding invitations for their July wedding. A traditional church wedding in Swansea, followed by a reception at the Oxwich Bay Hotel. The brief was ‘quite plain invitations maybe with a floral touch, to include an RSVP with menu choices as well as an information card for staying at the venue etc.’
Based in Swansea, Olivia and Owain were a little too far away from my studio in Cardiff to visit. So, our initial meeting was over Zoom. After a good chat about their wedding theme and colours I came up with a proposal for the following suite of mauve wedding invitations and stationery.

Pocketfold style mauve wedding invitations
Olivia and Owain needed to include a fair amount of information in the wedding invitations. As well as the main invitation part there were details of both the ceremony and reception venue, children, accommodation, transport, and parking. In addition, they needed to include a for their guests to preorder from. A reply card (with tick boxes for those menu choices) was also an essential requirement.

An outer pocket in a rich burgundy shade was chosen to complement the mauve floral design that we used throughout the invitations and stationery. All the inserts, and the matching bellyband, were printed onto 100% recycled white 300gsm card stock. Olivia and Owain chose a 5” x 7” or 13cm x 18cm format for their pocketfold wedding invitation. I like this larger size, it makes a lovely impact and gives plenty of space for all those extra details. My pocketfold invitations always come with high quality envelopes as well, Olivia and Owain chose white to match the invitation inserts.

Matching mauve evening reception invitations
For the evening reception, a much more pared back invitation was needed. A simple flat invitation card (slightly smaller than the pocketfold at 10cm x 15cm or A6) printed on one side only was sufficient. Again, 100% recycled white card stock, and complete with white envelopes.

Coordinating order of service cards
A simple A4 card, printed both sides and folded to A5 size was perfect for Olivia and Owain’s church wedding order of service. This format gives plenty of room for all the service details, including the words for two hymns, and a back page with an introduction to the bridal party along with a little thank you note from the bride and groom. The mauve floral design was used as an accent, to keep the theme from the invitations.

Reception stationery to match their mauve wedding invites
For Olivia and Owain’s reception at the Oxwich Bay Hotel in Gower, I designed a range of table stationery to match their mauve wedding invitations.

Mauve wedding place cards
Classic tent style place cards, with the floral design and the full guest names. Printed onto 300gsm recycled white card.

Floral table number cards
The table numbers carried the floral design and were backed with the same burgundy card that we used for the pocketfold invitations.

Mauve wedding table plan
The table plan was printed onto eco-friendly display board at A1 size (perfect to accommodate 12 guest tables plus the top table), again with the mauve floral design.

Wedding favour tags
A finishing touch for Olivia and Owain’s wedding favours. Personalised tags, again printed with that lovely mauve floral design and finished with satin ribbon.

Mauve floral wedding signs
And finally, a few wedding signs were created, again to tie in with the mauve wedding invitations. An order of the day timeline was printed onto eco-friendly display board. A smaller ‘generations of love’ sign was printed onto recycled white card, for Olivia and Owain to display in a frame along with photographs of their family members.

So that was Olivia and Owain’s suite of mauve wedding invites and stationery for their big day in Swansea, South Wales. I use the same pretty, watercolour, mauve floral design throughout all of their items from invitations to wedding signs. This helped to create a coordinated look for their stationery from beginning to end.
