Hooray, the new year is here! It’s time to get stuck into wedding planning in earnest with my wedding stationery checklist for January. Whether you are tying the knot this year, next year, or even the year after I’m here to keep you on track with your save the dates, wedding invitations, and other stationery.
Your January wedding stationery checklist
My fool proof list of what you need to be ticking off that to do in the first month of the new year.
1. Order your save the date cards
for 2025 and (eek!) early 2026 weddings
The best time to send your save the date cards 12 to 18 months before your wedding. But, if you have booked your date and venue you are good to go. It’s OK to send them up to two years in advance. Click any of the images below for more inspo.

2. Order your day and evening invitations
for weddings from May to August 2024
You should aim to send your wedding invitations between four and eight months before the big day. To make sure they are ready in time, you should order them between six and ten months before your wedding. Click any of the images below for more wedding invitation inspo.

3. Order your on the day stationery

4. Don’t forget the all important thank you cards
the last piece of wedding stationery you need
Thank you cards are the perfect way to round off your wedding stationery suite. A personal, handwritten note to your nearest and dearest is a must. If you have tied the knot in the last six months, then it’s not loo late!
What on earth do you write in thank you cards?
How to action your January wedding stationery checklist
Get in touch to book your production slots for me to make your wedding invitations and stationery. You can reserve your space with me for any time in the next 12 months. A £50 deposit secures each production slot (you might need two: one for invites & one for on the day stationery).
For save the dates & thank you cards, pay in full with your order and lead time is about 2 weeks.
Remember – you DON’T need to have all the details (numbers, wording, names etc) finalised to get your slot booked.
Top tip
If you are planning a spring summer wedding, it’s not too late to get your order in. My lead time is usually around two weeks from approval of proofs. So, if you get everything sorted by the end of January, your invitations could be ready my mid February, if not before.
