Autumnal wedding invitations and stationery for Lisa & Leanne

Lisa & Leanne got in touch with me in November 2021, just under two years ahead of their September 2023 wedding at Llechwen Hall Hotel in Pontypridd, South Wales. They were looking for a full suite of stationery for their big day, from save the dates through to invitations, on the day stationery, and thank you cards. Their theme was autumnal browns and oranges, softened with hints of dusty pink. Together we designed their coordinated set of autumnal wedding invitations and stationery.

Autumnal save the date cards

Lisa and Leanne wanted to announce their wedding date in style. They chose to do this almost two years ahead of the wedding, by sending a simple save the date card. We used a rustic autumnal design, printed onto cream card. The layout featured a calendar of their wedding month, their date highlighted with a heart motif.

Autumnal wedding invitations for the day

With a lot of information to include for their guests, Lisa & Leanne chose a pocketfold style for their invitations. The pocketfold format allowed them to enclose details of the day including accommodation arrangements, a gift wish poem, and a very simple order of the day timeline. Also inside the pocket was an RSVP card with an addressed envelope to encourage a timely response from their guests. All of the pocketfold inserts were printed onto cream card with the autumnal design carried through from the save the dates. The pocket itself was a soft, dusty pink colour, finished off with a printed personalised bellyband, again with the autumnal design. Lisa & Leanne chose to have their guest names printed in the invitations to give a professional finish.

Matching autumnal wedding invitations for the evening reception

To coordinate with the day invitations, Lisa & Leanne chose simple flat cars for their evening invitations. Featuring the autumnal design on cream card, backed with the dusty pink to show a border.

On the day stationery to match their autumnal wedding invitations

Lisa & Leanne wanted to carry the design from their autumnal wedding invitations throughout their wedding day stationery. Here’s how we did that:

Autumnal wedding signs

We created a set of large wedding signs for Lisa & Leanne, including a welcome sign, unplugged ceremony sign, and a table plan. These all featured the autumnal design and were printed onto eco friendly display board, so they were easily recyclable after the big day.

Personalised confetti bags for the ceremony

We used a little part of the autumnal design on Lisa & Leanne’s confetti bags, which they placed on every other chair for the wedding ceremony. These were filled with dried flower petal confetti; completely natural, and biodegradable.

Autumnal personalised wedding menus

Lisa & Leanne wanted each of their guests to have their own, personalised wedding menu at their place setting. We designed these to include the guest names so that they doubled up as place cards. Again we used the autumnal design on cream card, and finished these with gorgeous rich, brown velvet ribbon for an extra luxe touch.

Autumnal table numbers

To match the table plan and menus, we created table number cards. I like to make these tent style so that they can either be used freestanding on the table or folded flat to go into clip style holders or mini easels. The cards were printed onto cream card, and we used the same dusty pink colour as the invitations to back them with.

Smaller wedding signs

For their cake and gifts table, we made matching small signs. There were tent style, similar to the table numbers. We also created very small signs for the cake flavours.

Autumnal wedding thank you cards

To finish off the suite of autumnal wedding invitations and stationery, we printed personalised thank you cards for Lisa & Leanne. Again with the autumnal design on the corners, left blank inside for them to write their own personal message.

What the brides said:
We wanted to thank you for everything thing you have done. Our wedding stationery has been amazing. You have been wonderful and we couldn’t have asked for a better professional person like yourself to look after our wedding stationery for us. We can’t wait to see it out on Saturday.

And that was Lisa & Leanne’s complete suite of autumnal wedding invitations and stationery. Right through from those initial save the date cards to the final thank you card, we kept the theme running throughout to give a consistent and coordinated look. The design was based on my house collection: Autumn. You can see it here, along with some other autumnal wedding invitation inspiration for you.
