Wedding in memory sign ideas and advice

Your wedding is one of the happiest and most special days of your life. But, there may well be loved ones, no longer with you, that you will want to remember on the big day. It can be tricky to find a balance between honouring their memory, while not detracting from the joy and happiness of the occasion. Having a seat reserved for them in their memory, or a tasteful sign on a table (perhaps with a photograph, flowers, or a candle) are simple ways to do this. Here are some ideas for your wedding in memory sign, to help you remember special loved ones on your big day.

Heaven may be far away

Heaven may be far away, but we know you’re with us on this special day.

We know you would be here today, if heaven wasn’t so far away. In loving memory of . . . .

No longer with us

On this joyous occasion, we would like to remember our loved ones who are no longer with us.

WE THINK ABOUT YOU ALWAYS
WE TALK ABOUT YOU STILL
YOU HAVE NEVER BEEN FORGOTTEN
AND YOU NEVER WILL

We think about you always
We talk about you still
You have never been forgotten
And you never will

All of these ideas for wedding in memory signs can be customised and adapted to suit you. Add names, and perhaps photographs of your loved ones if you wish. The important thing is to have something that feels right for you, and that evokes the right kind of emotion on your big day.

Alternatives to wedding in memory signs

If displaying a wedding in memory sign doesn’t feel right for you, how about reserving a chair at the ceremony, or a place at the reception in honour of your loved ones. You could use any of these wording ideas on a tag or place card, a lovely way to remember them.

This chair looks empty

Although this chair looks empty, it’s filled with all the love of those who can’t be with us but are watching from above.

Again, with these suggestions, you can customise, add names etc to make them your own and relevant to you. It’s important to remember that on your big day, an empty chair could work two ways. It will either be a lovely acknowledgement of a memory, or a sad reminder that that special person is not there. Again, it’s important to choose something that feels right for you and that won’t upset you (or other guests) on what should be a happy and joy filled day.

I hope these ideas for your wedding in memory sign have given you some inspiration for remembering loved ones on your big day. Feel free to use the wording as I have suggested or adapt and customise so they are just perfect for you. Combine a framed print with flowers, candles, or photographs on a ladder or table. Or save a seat at your ceremony or reception. All of these are lovely ways to acknowledge those special people no longer with you.

I can make any of these in memory signs in any of my house collection designs. Or, if you can’t see quite the florals or look that you are after, get in touch and we can create something bespoke for you. Signs can be printed any size from A6 (postcard) to A1 (poster).
