Ordering from By Jo FAQs
Where are you based and do you have a shop?
I don’t have a shop, but you are welcome to visit my studio to see samples and get a quote. Please make an appointment – it’s my workspace so I’ll need a little time to clear the desk! My studio is in Taffs Well, just outside Cardiff in South Wales. Visit my contact page to see exactly where I am based and to get in touch to make an appointment.
Do you have a minimum order?
Yes, but it’s really low. You can usually order as little as 5 invitations if you need to. See my ordering page for more info.
Do you send out samples?
I don’t have generic samples to ready to send out. Sometimes I can make bespoke samples to order. Get in touch for more details.
Do you take card payments?
Yes, I can take payment by credit and debit card either in my studio or online (I can send you an invoice with a payment link on). I can also take payments by bank transfer.
How much are your wedding invites?
Well, it depends on what you’re after. A very simple flat invitation can be as little as £1.00. A fully embellished pocketfold with a full suite of insert cards and a tissue lines postal box can be upwards of £7.00 each. I price each and every order according to exactly what you want and the quantities you need. There is a very broad price guide HERE if you want to get an idea.
Do you do bespoke designs?
Yes I can. I can adapt and customise any of my existing designs with different materials, colour schemes and fonts. I can also work with you to create an entirely new design, unique to you and your wedding. Get in touch to find out more.
Do you deliver?
If you are local to my studio in Taffs Well (near Cardiff) you can collect your finished stationery. I can arrange postal or courier delivery to UK addresses if needs be.
Wedding invites & save the date cards FAQs
When should we send our save the dates and invitations?
Save the dates usually up to 1 to 2 years in advance. Invitations usually 6 to 8 months in advance. However, it can depend on when you’re getting married. Have a look at my Ordering Timeline for more info.
How many wedding invites will we need?
You’ll need one per couple, family or household, not one per guest. It’s usually just over half your total guest number. So, for example, 100 guests would require around 55 invitations. This goes for save the date cards too. Check out my quick reference table to see how many of each stationery item you’re likely to need.
Will we get proofs for our wedding invitations?
Yes, you’ll always get a proof by email before I print any of your invitations and stationery. Top tip: try and get someone who is not involved with the wedding planning, perhaps a work colleague, to proof read for you. Fresh eyes and often spot a little error or typo that you might not notice.
Are envelopes included with wedding invites?
Yes. White, ivory or kraft envelopes come with all my save the date cards, handmade wedding invitations and thank you cards (and are included in the price I quote). If you’d like different coloured envelopes, liners or postal boxes instead, just ask and I can give you a price.
What if we need extra wedding invites?
I always recommend you include a few spare wedding invites with your order. These will cover any mistakes when writing, those unexpected additions to the guest list and of course a keepsake for yourselves. If you do run out though, let me know and I can usually make you an extra few (subject to the minimum of 5).
Can you do bilingual wedding invitations?
Yes I can! I will need you to supply all the text in digital format so that I can ‘copy and paste’ and apply the correct fonts & styling. You will also need to make sure you are extra careful when checking your proofs.
Can you print guest names on the wedding invites?
Yes, I can print your guest names onto the your wedding invites if you wish. I’ll need you to supply a spell checked list by email. I can print the addresses onto envelopes too if you’d like me to.
How much will the stamps be for our wedding invites?
It will depend on the size and weight. A simple flat, postcard sized save the date or invitation will generally be a regular first or second class stamp. Wedding invites with bigger bows and embellishments will probably need a large letter stamp.
Wedding ceremony & reception stationery FAQs
When should we order ‘on the day’ stationery?
You can schedule any stationery for your ceremony and reception when you order your invitations. You’ll need to confirm the details (and final numbers) around 4 to 6 weeks before the wedding.
Do we need an order of service?
Order of service booklets are usually only for church weddings, where the words for hymns are included for the congregation to sing along. They are not essential though. Check with your church and see what they recommend.
Do we have to have a table plan?
If you are having a sit down meal (wedding breakfast) after your ceremony then I would always recommend having some kind of seating plan. It will ensure that your nearest and dearest are seated in the place you choose for them, and will avoid any awkward situations where couples or families late to the room can’t sit together.
Can we have names instead of numbers on our tables?
You can call your tables whatever you would like. The more creative the better in my opinion – it’s a great way to inject a little of your personalities into your reception. See more info about table names or numbers HERE.
Do you set up the place cards & table plan at the venue?
No. You will be able to collect your finished stationery from my studio 7 to 10 days before the wedding. You will need to arrange for your wedding coordinator, venue dresser or willing friend/family member to set them up for you.
What if we have last minute changes to our table plan?
Don’t panic! I can often make very last minute changes to your table plan, and an extra place card to two is fairly straightforward. Get in touch, talk to me about what needs changing and I’ll do my best to help.
