Elegant white wedding stationery & invites for Amy & Rhys

Amy & Rhys came to visit my studio in November 2019. They were looking for bespoke handmade invitations and matching elegant white wedding reception stationery. At the time, they were excitedly planning their wedding for April 2020. Their ceremony and reception would be for around 40 family and friends at St. Fagans Castle near Cardiff. In addition, 50 or so extra guests would be invited to join them for an evening celebration at Llandaff Rowing Club.

Elegant white wedding invitations

I created wedding and evening invitations for them in a very simple, pared back design. Lots of understated elegance, pure white with just a little touch of sparkle. Clean, crisp, shimmering pearlescent board with a hint of holographic glitter and sparkling Swarovski crystal accents gave them just the look they were after. We kept the design really clean and simple, with guest information on the reverse of the day invitation. Amy’s telephone number was included for guests to RSVP. There was no need for a separate reply card.

With the bespoke invitations complete and sent, I was all set to make their matching elegant white wedding reception stationery in the new year.

Wedding postponed!

When a national lockdown hit in late March, Amy and Rhys were forced to change their wedding plans. We had to put all of their elegant white wedding stationery for their reception on hold. In September I had a message to say that, with just three weeks to organise, they were hoping to tie the knot at the end of September.

Amy and Rhys had to reduce their guest list from the original 40 to just 28. Their celebration was much smaller but I was delighted to still create a suite of elegant white wedding stationery for their intimate, socially distanced wedding reception.

Elegant white wedding stationery for the micro wedding & reception

Going micro with the guest list doesn’t mean you have to go small on the detail. For Amy and Rhys, I carried through the theme from their bespoke wedding invites, with crisp white card and just a hint of sparkle.

Elegant white place cards and table numbers

Place cards were a classic tent style, printed with the guest name on the front and the couple’s and and wedding date on the back. I finished them with sparkling Swarovski crystals for a luxe look. A lovely little keepsake, and I’m sure some guests will have taken them home with them.

Coordinating table numbers with a hint of white glitter and more crystals plus matching folded menu cards completed the stationery for the reception tables.

Bespoke mirror table plan

For the table plan, Amy supplied me with a mirror on which I mounted individually crafted cards to match all the other stationery. Naturally, more elegant white card, a little glitter and some of those crystal accents.

For a socially distanced micro wedding, a clear and accurate seating plan, along with place cards and table numbers are essential. They are an integral part of helping to keep family groups and social bubbles separate.

Amy’s micro wedding story

Amy got in touch after the wedding, saying how pleased they were with the invitations and stationery I had created for them. She agreed to share her story with me, all about how she & Rhys postponed and downsized their Cardiff wedding. To read all about their journey, their experience and advice, head over to my second blog in this series.

Amy & Rhys’ handmade invites and wedding stationery were based on my Glitterati collection. If you like the look of it pop over and see more bespoke stationery in a similar design.
