ordering process

This is a typical process and suggested timescale for ordering wedding stationery. We do realise though that every wedding is unique and we can be flexible to suit most requirements. Please contact us before placing your order to discuss your preferred timescale and to ensure we have diary space available to accommodate you.

Up to 12 months before the wedding - begin to decide on your design, colour scheme etc

Order samples online or contact us to book a consultation to help decide on the design and style of your stationery requirements. It's a good idea to decide at this stage when you hope to send your invitations out. It is normal to send invitations 6 to 8 weeks before the wedding, however this can be more particularly if you are marrying abroad, or during Christmas or summer holidays.

Place your order and book your production slot

Our normal production time is 4 to 6 weeks from confirmation of all printing details and approval of proofs (proofs are usually supplied within a week of receiving your printing details). However you can pay a deposit and book your production slot up to 12 months in advance, and we would recommend doing so if possible as our diary can fill up quite far in advance.

If you plan to have any 'on the day' stationery (i.e. order of service, place cards, table plan etc), we strongly recommend that you order these at the same time as your invitations. This guarantees a further production slot and helps to ensure material availability and colour continuity as all of the raw materials can be ordered in one batch.
We understand that you may not have exact numbers or printing details for some items at this stage, so these can be confirmed nearer the time. Base your initial order on your best approximation of numbers, any slight fluctuation in quantities will be reflected in your final invoice. For guidance on the numbers of each item you will need and some suggested wordings please see our ‘wedding stationery guide’.

You can place your order online and if your order is over £150.00 then a 50% deposit is required to secure a production slot, with the balance payable prior to despatch or on collection of your final items (i.e. your on the day stationery). You will automatically be given a code to enter at checkout if you want to pay a deposit. Orders under £150.00 require payment in full with order. Once we receive your online order and deposit we will contact you to agree a suitable production schedule and confirm your printing requirements.

Alternatively you can contact us by phone or email with the numbers of each item you require (invitations, order of service, place cards etc), your wedding date and the date you would like to send out your invitations. If you prefer you can arrange an appointment to come and go through your order with us. We will prepare a detailed quotation based on your numbers, confirming the deposit required and payment methods available. Once we receive your deposit we will send a receipt and a schedule of deadlines and delivery dates.

6 - 8 weeks before invitations required - proofing, confirm numbers & guest lists (invitations)

We will remind you in good time to send your invitation wordings through to us. These should be sent by email if possible, and you may attach Word documents if required. From this information we will prepare proofs and send to you in pdf format by email. Any amendments or corrections should be made by email and further proofs will be supplied until you are happy with everything. Hard copy proofs are not supplied unless requested.

Final proofs need to be approved no later than 6 weeks before you require the invitations. At this stage you will need to confirm (in writing, by email if possible) the final numbers for production of your invitations, and supply your list of guests names to be printed (and addresses for envelopes if applicable). Guest lists should be supplied in an Excel spreadsheet and should be typed exactly as you would like them to be printed. We can supply a template for you to fill in if you wish.

We will not start work on your invitations until we have full proof approval, confirmed numbers and all guest information if applicable. Any delays in final sign off may result in your invitations being delayed.  We will be in touch once your invitations are ready to arrange delivery or collection, usually 4 to 6 weeks after we commence production.

4 - 6 weeks before the wedding - proofing, confirm numbers & guest list (on the day items)

We will contact you for details of all your on the day stationery; order of service, place cards, menus, etc. Information should be emailed (attaching Word and Excel documents where necessary) and proofs will be supplied in pdf format as with your invitations. Should you have any of the information available prior to this deadline please do send it through to us as we can start the proofing process in advance.

Final proofs need to be approved and numbers confirmed no later than 4 weeks before the wedding to allow us sufficient time to make the items.

3 weeks before the wedding - confirm names and layout for table plan

We appreciate that table plans can be subject to last minute changes and therefore it is best to leave this item as late as possible to produce.

1 week before the wedding - receive all on the day stationery

We aim to have all of your stationery ready at least a week before your wedding, and we will be in touch to arrange delivery or collection. Please check and double check through all of your stationery as soon as you receive it so that any problems can be rectified in good time for your wedding.
