2014 review of the year

Well, what a blinder of a year it was for us. I’ve just done the sums and in total we supplied 85 weddings, all over Wales and the UK, with one order going as far as Canada. The collages up there are just a few of stunning designs, both off the shelf and bespoke, that we have made this year – there are so many more, just not enough space to show them! We made nearly 7000 invitations during the year, not to mention all the other coordinating goodies like the 4000 place cards, the 1700 order of service and the 52 table plans. We’ve certainly had a busy one!

Design wise there’s been quite a bit of glitter and diamante which is looking like a major trend into 2015 too. Rustic kraft, hessian, lace & twine have been popular as well, particularly for barn and farm venues – giving a lovely home made, vintage feel, and, of course there’s been plenty of the classic ‘cadbury’ purple. You’re all still loving the pocketfold invitations, they’re such a neat way of providing your guests with all the information they need for the big day, and lots of you have been wowing your guests with a mirror table plan at the reception – super glam!

What have we achieved as a business? Well, we were finalists, again, in our region for the Welsh National Wedding Awards – such an honour, and we must say a huge thank you to all of you who voted for us. We Grew: After 7 years of ByJo being just me, Jo, 2014 brought two new additions, Deeanne & Beth, to make us a team. I’d never have managed all those invitations on my own, and it’s lovely to have some company in the beach house studio too. Then towards the end of the year, we took the plunge and became a limited company, registered in England and Wales. I can now officially call myself a Director ha ha!

So all in all a pretty crazy year, but we’ve loved it! There were times when sleep seemed like a luxury, but looking back now on what we have achieved – it was sooo worthwhile. Thanks for being part of it! We’re all looking forward now to getting stuck into 2015 and seeing what that brings.

Happy New Year!
